Find a Passage

How this works

There are two ways to use this page, and they work differently.

The questions above the passages are a curated index. Each one maps to a short list of references chosen by hand — the same references a printed topical index or a pastor would give you. Nothing about them is generated, so nothing can be invented.

The box where you type your own question uses an AI assistant, and only for one job: reading what you wrote and choosing which passages speak to it. It writes a short framing in your language and one line per passage saying why. It never writes out scripture. Every verse you see is fetched from a real translation via getBible — the same source the curated questions use. Language models paraphrase scripture confidently and wrongly, so that job is taken away from it entirely.

The assistant will not answer for the church on questions of doctrine or position, and it is not pastoral care. When a question is about something heavy, the reply says so and offers the church office instead. If it is ever the choice between a passage and a person, please choose the person.

Want to read further? The online Bible has all 66 books in every language listed here, with the same side-by-side view. A curated question can also be linked directly — ask.html?topic=grief — so a sermon page or a pastoral email can point straight at the right passages.
